Thiruvananthapuram: The checkposts of Motor Vehicle Department (MVD) will switch to online mode shortly. People will not have to wait at the checkposts for hours for permits. They will be given permit if fee is paid online. The new system will be useful for the inter-state goods vehicles and buses.
To advertise here, Contact UsThe contract carriage vehicles in the state can apply for special permit to travel to other states via ' Vahan ' software. Earlier, permit was granted at the respective checkposts. Instead of this, now they have to file online application to the office where the vehicle was registered.
The vehicles carrying passengers need not wait at checkposts. They only have to produce the online permit for verification. The inter-state goods vehicles also can take permit before starting the journey and produce it at checkposts.
